POST-GAME NOTES - Louisiana Tech captains were

- Rice won the opening coin toss and deferred to the second half.
- Announced attendance: 19,992.
- With the 42-28 win, LA Tech extends its streak to four-straight against the Owls while owning a 7-4 record all-time.
- Louisiana Tech improves to 4-4, 2-2 C-USA, while Rice falls to 1-7, 1-3 C-USA.
OFFENSE - Running back
Boston Scott tied his career high with three rushing touchdowns (last time was last year against Rice).
- Scott led the Tech rushing attack with 17 attempts for 87 yards.
- Wide receiver
Teddy Veal set a new career high with 11 receptions. His 118 yards were the most in a Tech uniform (previous high was 110 at South Carolina).
- Veal had three catches for 36 yards in Tech's go-ahead drive late in the fourth quarter.
- Quarterback
J'Mar Smith finished the game 21-of-32 passing for 237 yards and one touchdown.
- Running back
Jarred Craft added 67 yards on 13 carries.

Boston Scott capped off a first-quarter, seven-play, 59-yard drive with a five-yard touchdown run, putting the Bulldogs up 7-0.
- On Tech's subsequent drive, Scott rushed for his second touchdown of the day, this time from six yards out, completing a 10-play, 76-yard drive that lasted four minutes and 34 seconds.
- With 3:38 left in the first half,
J'Mar Smith rolled to his right and found
Kam McKnight in the back of the end zone for a five-yard touchdown.
- Craft found the end zone for the fifth time this season (three rushing, two receiving). His four-yard TD run with 2:03 left in the third quarter was his first rushing touchdown since Tech's opener against Northwestern State.
- With the score tied at 28, Tech orchestrated an 11-play, 75-yard drive, capped off by a two-yard rush up the middle for Scott's third TD of the day.
- After rushing for 161 yards last week against Southern Miss, the Tech offense combined for 180 yards on the ground (second-most rushing yards this season - 221 against Northwestern State).

Jarred Craft have started 22 straight games.
DEFENSE - Defensive end
Jaylon Ferguson has now made 22 straight starts.
- The Tech defense forced four turnovers for the first time this season (three interceptions, one fumble).

Secdrick Cooper totaled a team-high eight tackles.
- Freshman
Amik Robertson registered six tackles and tied his career high with a pair of tackles for loss, including his second sack of the season.
- With 7:22 left in the first quarter, Tech capitalized on a poor snap and Dae'Von Washingotn fell on the ball for the first takeaway of the game.

L'Jarius Sneed notched his second-career interception with 1:18 left in the first half.

Trey Spencer jumped in front of a pass with 36 seconds left in the game and returned his first career interception 37 yards for a touchdown.

Darryl Lewis closed out the game with an interception on a desperation Rice heave into the end zone with 9 seconds remaining.
SPECIAL TEAMS -
Jonathan Barnes was 5-of-5 on extra-point attempts, and did not attempt a field goal for the first time this season.
