Sept. 1, 2017 MC Opener Results (Men) 
CLINTON, Miss. - The Louisiana Tech men's cross country team opened the 2017 season by placing second at the Mississippi College Opener at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Mississippi.
In the season-opening meet, LA Tech's men competed in a field of 12 programs and finished second behind only the host team, Mississippi College. Out of 92 individual entries, the Bulldogs had five runners finish in the top 25.
Louisiana Tech was led by redshirt freshman Conner Killian, who was the top finisher for the Bulldogs after placing fifth with a time of 16:41.93. True freshman Noah Elder impressed in his collegiate debut after finishing in 14th place with a final time of 17:08.00 on the day. Austin Ballow began his sophomore season by placing in the top 20 with a time of 17:18.83 to finish in 16th place.
Nathan Bolner, a sophomore from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, finished the trail with a time of 17:40.93, which ranked 20th individually. Junior Drake Heinz posted a time of 17:52.89 to finish the day in 24th place, while Andre Aguillard finished with a time of 18:27.51 to place 39th.
Louisiana Tech's men and women will race again in two weeks when Tech hosts the program's annual Mook Triple-Duals on Saturday, Sept. 16 at Tech Farm in Ruston.
