Lady Techsters pick up three fall wins last weekend

RUSTON – Fresh off of three more fall game victories last weekend, Louisiana Tech will host Northwestern State Friday at 6 p.m. at the Lady Techster Softball Complex.

Admission is free for the game. Fans can also watch a live video stream of it through YouTube by searching Louisiana Tech Softball Live Stream.

Head coach Mark Montgomery and Co. are 4-0 on the fall season, outscoring the opponents 28-5 in victories of Lamar, Arkansas Tech, Henderson State and Bossier Parish Community College.

This past weekend, the Lady Techsters defeated Arkansas Tech 9-1, Bossier Parish Community College 9-3 and Lamar 1 (in 3 innings/rain).

Tech's pitching staff boasts a 1.38 earned run average thus far this fall led by Preslee Gallaway (2-0, 0.00 ERA), Krystal De La Cruz (1-0, 0.00), Hannah Keonig (1-0, 1.50) and Jenny Chapman (0-0, 2.70). In 26 innings of work in the circle, the Techsters have allowed only four earns runs on 19 hits. Tech's pitchers have struck out 21 while issuing just six walks.

Offensively, Tech is batting .270 as a team led by Marilyn Rizzato (.667, 6 walks, 4 RBI), Jazlyn Crowder (.600, 6 walks, HR, 3 RBI), Mary Terral (.500, 3 RBI), Lindsay Edwards (.462, HR, 5 RBI), and Morgan Turkoly (.364, HR, 3 RBI). The Lady Techster hitters have drawn 29 walks while striking out only six times.

In Tech's 9-3 win over Bossier Parish Community College, Crowder (2-1, 3 runs, HR, 2 RBI), Turkoly (2-3, 3 runs, HR, 2 RBI) and Edwards (1-3, HR, 3 RBI) paced the Lady Techsters at the plate. Koenig picked up the win in the circle, allow just one unearned run on three hits in 4.0 innings of action.

Gallaway picked up the victory in the 9-1 win over Arkansas Tech, throwing 5.0 scoreless innings while allowing five hits and striking out six. Terral (1-1, run, 2 RBI), Rizzato (1-2, run, 2 RBI) and Edwards (2-4, run) led LA Tech at the plate.

In a rain-shortened 1-0 win over Lamar, Turkoly (1-2, RBI) drove home Crowder (1-1, run) with the only run of the three inning contest. Rizzato and Edwards also registered hits in the game. De La Cruz tossed 3.0 innings of shutout softball, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out five.
