COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Sept. 22, 2018) – The Louisiana Tech men's cross country team finished fifth out of 14 teams in a competitive field at this morning's Texas A&M Invitational at Watts Cross Country Course in College Station.

Overall, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs averaged a time of 25:46.52 in the men's 8k race and totaled a team score of 170 to place fifth in the event only behind Texas A&M (69), Tarleton State (88), Lamar (91) and UTRGV (161).

In Saturday's event, LA Tech was led by
Austin Ballow who posted a time of 25:18.65 to finish in 21st place. Ballow was followed by
Mason Youberg, who finished 30th with a time of 25:36.40, and
Conner Killian, who placed 32nd overall after he finished with a time of 25:40.10.

Freshmen
Josiah Perez and
Cameron Farris also finished inside the top 50 after the two Bulldogs posted times of 26:06.20 and 26:11.22, respectively, in the 8k race on Saturday morning in College Station. Closing out the morning for Louisiana Tech was
John Barham (26:21.55), William Harrell (26:21.63) and
Cooper Krenkels (27:29.07).

Louisiana Tech's men return to action on Friday, Oct. 5 at the Southern Arkansas Lois Davis Invitational in Magnolia, Arkansas. LA Tech's women will compete next weekend on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the McNeese Cowboy Stampede in Lake Charles.
