RUSTON – Louisiana Tech junior
Brianna Hood and junior
Conner Killian were both named to the 2019 Conference USA Cross Country All-Academic Team on Thursday.
Louisiana Tech was one of only three schools to have multiple honorees on the teams, joining Florida Atlantic and North Texas. Both the men's and the women's all-academic teams were comprised of six student-athletes from the 14-league schools.Â
Hood earned her first ever spot on the prestigious team, boasting a 3.97 grade point average in Biology. The Bryant, Arkansas, native is a two-time C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll member and two-time C-USA Academic Medalist. She has earned a spot on the Louisiana Tech AD's Honor Roll six times and the Presidents Honor Roll five times.
The honor is the third for Killian, who serves as the president of the Louisiana Tech Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. After being named to the team the past two years, Killian picked up his third straight honor boasting a 3.93 grade point average in forestry. The Metairie, Louisiana, native is a three-time C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll member and a three-time C-USA Academic Medalist. He was named the 2019 Jimmy Collins Award recipient this past summer by the Greater New Orleans Sports Awards Committee (sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl).
Both Hood and Killian will lead Louisiana Tech into the 2019 Conference USA Cross Country Championships this Saturday in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
