RUSTON - Louisiana Tech kicker Bailey Hale earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors for his performance on the field and in the classroom, the organization announced at noon on Thursday.
The business administration major currently owns a 3.83 GPA as a redshirt senior and has made 12 straight field goals since missing 2 in the Bulldogs season-opening game against Texas. Hale hit a career-long 50-yard field goal in a win over Southern Miss.Â
The 2019 Academic All-District Football Team, selected by CoSIDAÂ members, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
As a first-team Academic All-District® honoree, Hale will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First- and second-team (if applicable) Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
Hale and the Bulldogs will look to continue their eight-game winning streak on Friday night. Louisiana Tech takes on Marshall at 6 p.m. (CT). The game will be televised by CBS Sports Network.Â
