LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Louisiana Tech will take its show on the road for just the second time this season when the Lady Techsters travel to face Little Rock Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Jack Stephens Center.
The contest can be heard on the LA Tech Sports Network on KNBB 97.7 FM with the pregame show starting at 6 p.m. It can also be seen streamed live on ESPN+.
Head coach
Brooke Stoehr hopes to see some continued improvement from her young team which is coming off a 71-52 win over NAIA foe Loyola-New Orleans Tuesday in Ruston. In Tech's first road game of the year, the Lady Techsters struggled in a 23-point loss at Ole Miss in Oxford.
Tech (3-2) has a well-balanced offensive attack. Three players average in double figures while a total of seven players are averaging more than six points a game as the Lady Techsters are netting 76.0 points per contest thus far this year.
A pair of Arkansas native return to their home state for the game as Lonoke native
Keiunna Walker (11.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg) and Little Rock native
Amber Hawkison (10.2 ppg, 2.2 spg) will lead Tech into the game.
Little Rock (1-5) has gotten off to a slow start against a tough early season schedule, dropping back-to-back games to Conference USA foes in Florida Atlantic (79-72) and WKU (77-58). The Trojans also dropped a third game to a C-USA program, falling to Rice (66-40) – with all three of those losses coming on the road.
Offense has been at a premium for the defending Sun Belt Conference champions. Little Rock is averaging just 53 points per game and shooting only 37 percent from the field, led by Kyra Collier (16.3 ppg) and Teal Battle (11.2 ppg).
LA Tech leads the all-time series against the Trojans 9-4, although Little Rock won 69-58 in Ruston last season.
