@LATechFB Spreads Holiday Cheer with Willis-Knighton

SHREVEPORT, La. – Members of the Louisiana Tech football team volunteered to spread a little holiday cheer on Christmas Eve, heading to Willis-Knighton South to visit patients in the pediatric wing of the hospital.

Tech coaches asked for 10 volunteers to visit patients at one of LA Tech's north Louisiana partners, but more than double wanted to make the visit. In total, 25 Bulldogs came to wish a Merry Christmas to children facing medical challenges.

"We came here to show love to a lot of different people today," said LA Tech wide receiver Praise Okorie. "We have to give around this time of year. My little sister had leukemia and we went through a lot of hard times, so it was special to get to come and share happiness with kids today.

The student-athletes passed out some Tech gear —T-shirts, backpacks, scarves, and bandanas — to some of the children and posed with them for plenty of pictures.

The Bulldogs will have several new fans watching when they take on Miami on Thursday, December 26 in the Independence Bowl. Tickets are still available at latechsports.com/tickets.
