ORLANDO, Fla. – Louisiana Tech senior
Preslee Gallaway threw a complete-game no-hit shutout to lead the Lady Techsters to a 6-0 win over Penn State Sunday afternoon in Orlando.
Tech (12-3) then fell 5-2 to UCF in the second game of the day after the Knights scored five runs with two outs in the fifth to record the come-from-behind victory.
Game 1: LA Tech 6, Penn State 0
Preslee Gallaway needed only 86 pitches to record a seven-inning no hitter in leading the Lady Techsters to the 6-0 win over Penn State.
Gallaway (4-2) allowed just three base runners (one walk, two HBP) while striking out five batters in picking up her fourth win of the season.
Tech capitalized on seven Penn State errors in the game, scoring six unearned runs while improving to 4-0 all-time against Penn State.
The Lady Techsters plated three runs in the first, one in the fourth and two more in the sixth against four different Nittany Lion pitchers.

Zoe Hicks (run) led Tech offensively in the win.
Game 2: UCF 5, LA Tech 2
Tech appeared poised to pick up an RPI builder victory, but UCF scored five runs with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning to complete the comeback.
The Lady Techsters scored two runs in the top of the fourth inning.
Morgan Turkoly singled and advanced to third on a two-base error by UCF on a ground ball by
Sloane Stewartson. Turkoly scored the first run of the game on an RBI bunt single by
Marilyn Rizzato. Stewartson scored the second run of the inning on a double steal attempt.
Senior
Krystal De La Cruz was in cruise control through four innings, holding UCF to just two hits. However, with a runner on first and two outs in the bottom of the fifth, De La Cruz saw three straight UCF pinch hitters single up the middle to tie the game at 2-2.
Jenny Chapman came on in relief with runners on second and third with two outs, but hit back to back batters to force home the go ahead run. Chapman then surrendered a two-run double before freshman
Hannah Koenig came on to get the final out of the inning.
Stewartson singled to lead off the seventh inning but UCF retired the next three Tech batters to end the game.
Turkoly (1-3, run), Stewartson (1-2, run), Rizzato (1-3, RBI) and
Kailey Anderson (1-2) led Tech offensively.
Tech will return to action Wednesday when the Lady Techsters face UCF for the second of three match-ups between the two programs.
