DENTON, Texas – Louisiana Tech returns to the hardwood Saturday afternoon when the Lady Techsters travel to The Super Pit to face North Texas at 3 p.m.
Tech (9-6, 1-3 C-USA) is coming off a 60-47 loss at Rice Thursday night while North Texas (7-10, 1-4 C-USA) dropped a 65-57 contest at home against Southern Miss.
Saturday's game can be heard on the LA Tech Sports Network on KNBB 97.7 FM with the pregame show starting at 2:30 p.m. Fans can also watch a live video stream of the game through a paid subscription to CUSATV.com.
North Texas looks to snap a four-game losing streak. The Mean Green opened C-USA play with an impressive 61-54 victory over WKU before dropping four straight contests, including a double overtime loss at Florida Atlantic and a two-point loss at FIU.
The Mean Green are the third straight opponent that Tech has faced that is allowing less than 60 points per game as opponents are averaging just 59.8 a contest. North Texas is holding its opponents to just 37 percent from the field on the season and is outrebounding opponents by four boards a game.
Offensively, Anisha George (12.1 ppg, 9.1 rpg) and Destinee McDowell (11.1 ppg, 7.2 rpg) lead North Texas although the Mean Green are shooting only 39 percent from the field, 25 percent from the three-point line and 64 percent from the free throw line.
Keiunna Walker (12.3 ppg, 3.5 rpg) and
Amber Dixon (10.0 ppg, 40 assists) continue to lead LA Tech offensively.
Tech leads the all-time series 12-2, including a 5-0 mark at the Super Pit.
