LA Tech quarterback Luke Anthony and family provided this message to Bulldog fans Monday following the graphic injury he suffered Saturday night against TCU at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Ft. Worth.
To the Dog Brotherhood and the rest of my Tech family,
Â
I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and prayers surrounding my injury this past Saturday night against TCU. The injury I sustained was a compound fracture of my right tibia and fibula, and I underwent successful surgery Sunday morning in Ft. Worth to repair the damage. As bad as the injury was, I was very fortunate not to have injured any joints or ligaments in my leg. My physicians are optimistic, that with time, I will make a full recovery and will be back playing for the Dogs next season.
Â
I cannot express how grateful I am for all of my teammates and Coach Holtz, Coach Sloan, and the rest of the staff for allowing me to be a part of Dog Brotherhood. The opportunity to play quarterback for an FBS program has been a dream of mine since I was a young kid and it would not be possible without the belief that the team and staff had in me. The unwavering support that I have received from both the Ruston and the Tech communities since the moment I arrived in March has been incredible. I look forward to coming back stronger than ever and  helping Tech football continue to be the elite program that we all know it is.
Â
God Bless and let's make it 7 in a row in the New Orleans Bowl!!
