RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech guard Tyler Jackson has been named this week's Conference USA Freshman of the Week following her performance in the Lady Techsters win over Jackson State last week.
Jackson scored a season-high 10 points, grabbed three rebounds, added two assists and two steals in 27 minutes in the 73-66 win over the Tigers.
The Allen, Texas, native entered the game having missed her first eight three-pointers of the season, but connected on 3-of-3 during the opening two quarters to help the Lady Techsters take a 26-22 halftime lead.
This is the first such career honor for Jackson, who will lead LA Tech into Thursday night's I-20 match-up against ULM.
