RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech redshirt freshman kicker/punter
Jacob Barnes has been named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Special Teams Player of the Week after helping lead the Bulldogs to a 42-31 victory at North Texas in LA Tech's first game since Oct. 31.

The native of Baton Rouge, La., was a perfect 6-for-6 in extra point attempts against the Mean Green. Barnes remains perfect in PATs this season as he is 32-for-32 on the year. He also punted the ball five times for an average of 35.0 yards, including a punt to the UNT two-yard line and a long of 45 yards.

Louisiana Tech (5-3, 4-2 C-USA) will end its regular season Dec. 12 when the Bulldogs travel to Ft. Worth to face TCU (5-4, 5-4 Big 12). Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. (CT) in a game that will be televised on FS1.
