SAN ANTONIO – Louisiana Tech begins its final two-game regular season road trip of the year Thursday night when the Lady Techsters face UTSA at the Convocation Center at 7 p.m.
The contest can be heard on the LA Tech Sports Network on KNBB 97.7 FM with the pregame show starting at 6:30 p.m. Fans can also watch the game on a live stream through a paid subscription to CUSATV.com.
Louisiana Tech (13-14, 5-11 C-USA) will play its final two regular season games of the year on the road when the Lady Techsters travel to face UTSA (Thursday) and WKU (Saturday). Tech has qualified for the upcoming Conference USA Tournament in Frisco next week but is fighting for seeding (will either be the 11 or 12 seed).
UTSA (6-21, 2-14 C-USA) has lost 13 straight games entering Thursday's contest against the Lady Techsters and will not qualify for the Conference USA Tournament.
Louisiana Tech is coming off a 73-60 overtime loss against defending Conference USA champion Rice Saturday in Ruston. Tech led for more than 32 minutes of regulation, including a 54-44 lead with 7 minutes to play, before the Owls used a 12-2 run to close the quarter. Rice outscored Tech 17-4 in OT.
UTSA is coming off an 87-51 loss at home against UAB on Saturday. The Roadrunners lost leading scorer Mikayla Woods to a season-ending knee injury a few weeks ago. Woods averaged 15.0 points and 5.8 rebounds a game this season.
This marks the second meeting of the year between the two programs with UTSA defeating LA Tech 82-73 in Ruston back on Jan. 9. UTSA was led by Woods with 28 points in the win. Tech leads the all-time series against the Roadrunners 11-5.
