RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech added a familiar name to its roster as head coach
Maria Winn-Ratliff announced that former Ruston High School and LSU letter -Kara Goff has signed a financial aid agreement and will be joining the Lady Techster program this fall.
Goff, the daughter of former LA Tech head baseball coach Greg Goff, will have two years of eligibility remaining after the NCAA granted all spring sport athletes a waiver for an extra year of eligibility following the cancellation of the seasons due to the coronavirus.
"Kara is a very unique athlete," said Winn-Ratliff. "She's going to bring a lot of options to our program having experience playing multiple positions while attending LSU. We are excited to welcome her back to Ruston this fall."
Goff spent two years in Ruston during her father's time as the head baseball coach at Louisiana Tech. She played both softball and volleyball for the Lady Bearcats where she earned numerous honors on both the field and the court.
"I chose to transfer to Louisiana Tech because I wanted to go to a competitive program that I could make a difference at and still feel like it was home," said Goff. "When I lived in Ruston while in high school, I fell in love with the community and athletics atmosphere. I am excited to be back around all of those amazing people and to be a Bulldog."
Goff transferred to Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa for her senior season after her father was named the Crimson Tide's head coach.
She signed with LSU where she has spent the past three seasons with the Tigers. She spent some time in the circle for LSU as well as the designated player. During the past virus-shortened season in Baton Rouge, she was 2-for-6 at the plate.
