RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech will face its toughest test of the young season Friday night when the Lady Techsters travel to Oxford, Miss. to face the Ole Miss Rebels.
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at the The Pavilion and the game will be televised on SEC Network +.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH
The Lady Techsters opened the season with a dominate 103-53 win over Jarvis Christian College and followed it up with a 95-48 win over LSU-Alexandria last Friday.
The addition of
Jadona Davis,
Kate Thompson and the returning of
Anna Larr Roberson has allowed the Lady Techsters to play through the post and score in the paint. The Lady Techsters outscored LSU-Alexandria 48-12 in the paint and have outscored both opponents this season, 110-26, down low.
LA Tech has also turned defense into offense in the early parts of the season. The Lady Techsters pressured Jarvis Christian (33 TO) and LSU-Alexandria (24 TO) into 57 turnovers which led to 78 points for the Tech offense.
Five Lady Techsters are averaging in double-figures led by junior guard
Keiunna Walker at 19.5 points per game. Freshman
Amaya Brannon, who is averaging 12.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week on Monday following her performances against Jarvis Christian and LSU-Alexandria last week. Other Lady Techsters in double-figures include
Robyn Lee (14.0 ppg. 4.5 rpg.), Roberson (13.0 ppg., 7.0 rpg.) and
Silvia Nativi (10.0 ppg., 2.0 rpg.).
ABOUT OLE MISS (2-1)
Ole Miss dropped their season opener to the hands of Belmont but recovered to claim victories over Mississippi Valley State (94-44) and Lamar (71-37).
Ole Miss has had a different leading scorer in each game with Preseason All-SEC First-Team selection Shakira Austin anchoring the Rebels at 9.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.
Senior sharpshooter Angel Baker (11.0 ppg, 5.7 rpg. 44.4 3FG%) leads the Rebels in scoring while sophomore Madison Scott (12.3 ppg., 4.0 rpg) also averages double-figure.
The Rebels are scoring 71.7 points per game while allowing just 47.7 per contest. The Rebels outrebound teams by 10.4 rebounds per contests and have made 46.6 percent of their field goal attempts.
Ole Miss was picked to finish sixth in the SEC preseason poll voted on by the league coaches.
SERIES HISTORY
The Lady Techsters lead Ole Miss 7-3 in the all-time series that dates back to the 1987-88 season. Ole Miss won the last meeting between the two schools 76-53 in Oxford on Nov. 23, 2019. The Lady Techsters last win over the Rebels came during the 2018-19 season as LA Tech claimed an 80-71 victory in Ruston. Head Coach
