ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (2-1)
The Lady Techsters will look to rebound after suffering a 62-44 loss at Ole Miss last Friday night in Oxford, Miss. Tech is 2-1 on the young season with dominate wins over Jarvis Christian College and LSU-Alexandria.
Shooting woes haunted the Lady Techsters Friday night as Tech went 1-14 in the second quarter. They responded nicely in the second half by outscoring the Rebels behind Walker scoring 12 of her game-high 18 points after the break.
LA Tech has been a force on the defensive end thus far. They have turned defense into offense pressuring Jarvis Christian (33 TO), LSU-Alexandria (24 TO) and Ole Miss (15 TO) into 72 turnovers which has led to 97 points for the Tech offense.
Four Lady Techsters are averaging in double-figures led by Walker at 19.0 points per game. Other Lady Techsters scoring in double-figure are
Amaya Brannon (10.7 ppg.),
Anna Larr Roberson (10.0 ppg.) and
Robyn Lee (10.0 ppg.).
ABOUT NICHOLLS STATE (2-2)
Nicholls State enters Monday's contest with a 2-2 overall record. The Colonels have dropped road contests at LSU and Jackson State, but have picked up a pair of wins over Non-Division I opponents in Tougaloo and Spring Hill College this season.
Senior Chyna Allen anchors the Colonels offense with 12.0 points per game. She has scored in double-figures in 3-of-the-4 games this season for Nicholls State. Junior Chelsea Cain (10.1 ppg.) joins Allen as the only two Colonels averaging double-figures.
Nicholls State was picked to finish fourth in this year's Southland Conference preseason poll. The Colonels went 11-14 last season, but closed out the year by winning three of their final four games.
SERIES HISTORY
The Lady Techsters lead Nicholls State 18-1 in the all-time series that dates back to the 1974-75 season. Tech took down Nicholls State 68-52 in the last meet and have won the last three meeting between the two schools. The Lady Techsters are a perfect 9-0 against the Colonels in Ruston. Head Coach
