RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech dropped the series finale Sunday, falling 8-0 to Tulsa at Collins Family Softball Complex.
Tech (9-13) won the series after defeating the Golden Hurricane (9-7) by scores of 3-2 and 10-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Tulsa struck early and often on Sunday, taking a 3-0 lead on a three-run home run by Alexis Perry just three batters into the game.
The Golden Hurricane added two in the second, two in the third and one more in the fourth to claim the run-rule victory in five innings.
Hannah Koenig (0-2) got the start and took the loss, allowing three runs – two earned – on one hit in 1.0 innings of action.
Emma Hutchinson worked 1.1 innings in relief, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks.
Audrey Pickett worked the final 1.2 innings allowing one run on two hits.
Tech had numerous opportunities to plate runs, stranding six runners on base.
Amanda Gonzalez and
Madie Green each registered two hits while
Kara Goff,
Bailey Wright,
Caroline Easom and
Tristin Court each recorded one hit in the loss.
Tech hosts Northwestern State Tuedsay at 6 p.m. at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field.
