LA Tech Sports Network Set for 2021 Season

RUSTON, La. – For the 23rd straight year, Louisiana Tech will team up with KXKZ 107.5 FM as the flagship station for Bulldog and Lady Techster games. 
 
This fall, Tech fans can hear all 12 Bulldog football games as well as the 12 Bulldog football weekly radio shows live from the Dawghouse Sports Grill. Both the games and the weekly radio show can be heard through the Louisiana Tech Athletics app which can be downloaded through the Apple app store and Google Play.
 
Starting with the season opener at Mississippi State on Sept. 4, every Bulldog football game can be heard on KXKZ as well as KDBS 1410 AM (Alexandria), KDBS 94.7 FM (Alexandria), WUBR 910 AM (Baton Rouge), KJVC 92.7 FM (Mansfield), KZBL 100.7 FM (Nachitoches), KOKA 980 AM (Shreveport), KOKA 93.3 FM (Shreveport), KNCB 1320 AM (Vivian), KNCB 104.1 FM (Vivian) and KVCL 92.1 FM (Winnfield).
 
The new Voice of the Bulldogs has a familiar tone as Malcolm Butler begins his 23rd year within the Louisiana Tech Athletics Department, his first as the Voice of Bulldog football and men's basketball. A Senior Associate Athletic Director in charge of athletic communications, Butler takes over for legendary Hall of Famer Dave Nitz who announced his semi-retirement in April. 
 
Butler has spent the past 21 years serving as the Voice of the Lady Techster basketball and softball programs, calling in excess of 600 women's basketball games and 600 softball games. He has also called an assortment of Tech football, men's basketball and baseball games during his career, including the Bulldogs' run the NIT Final Four this past March.
 
Teddy Allen begins his 11th season in the radio booth, serving as the color analyst. Allen is a senior writer within University Communications at Tech and is a well-known, award-winning journalist having covered local sports for Shreveport, Monroe and New Orleans during his career. He also serves as the host of Talkin' Tech with Teddy, a weekly podcast featuring student-athletes, coaches and administrators from within Tech Athletics. 
 
Former Bulldog quarterback Luke McCown returns as the sideline reporter for LA Tech Sports Network for a select number of games during the 2021 campaign. McCown was one of the most prolific quarterbacks in the history of college football, ending his Bulldog career ranked in the top 10 in NCAA history in passing yards, total offense and passing touchdowns. He spent more than 10 years in the NFL.
 
The LA Tech Sports Network team will host a 90-minute pregame show prior to kickoff and a 30-minute postgame show.
 
Inside Tech Football with head coach Skip Holtz gets underway on Monday, Aug. 30, and will air on Monday's throughout the season from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Dawghouse Sports Grill in Ruston. Holtz will join Butler each Monday night (minus bye weeks) for the hour-long show which can be heard on KNBB 97.7 FM, KDBS 1410 AM (Alexandria), KDBS 94.7 FM (Alexandria), WUBR 910 AM (Baton Rouge), KOKA 980 AM (Shreveport) and KOKA 93.3 FM (Shreveport).
