RUSTON, LA. – Louisiana Tech head coach
Brooke Stoehr announced the Lady Techsters 11-game non-conference schedule Wednesday which completes the 29-game slate for the 2021-22 season.
"We are excited about the non-conference slate of games we have put together for the season," said Stoehr. "We will be faced with some tough road games at SEC and PAC 12 opponents Ole Miss and Colorado early in the season. Those road games combined with the always tough in-state opponents will help prepare our team for Conference USA play. This group has worked hard during the summer access period and has built solid chemistry early in their time together. We can't wait to watch this team compete and position themselves for a championship run."
Tech will open its season Nov. 9 when the Lady Techsters play host to Jarvis Christian College. Tech will then host Central Baptist College (Nov. 12) for its annual Elementary Day Game before hitting the road to matchup against Ole Miss (Nov. 19).
The Lady Techsters will return home to faceoff against Nicholls State (Nov. 22) before traveling to Colorado to compete in the Colorado Thanksgiving Classic against Boise State (Nov. 26) and Colorado (Nov. 27).
Stoehr and Co. will open the month of December with an appearance at Louisiana-Monroe (Dec. 2), before returning to the TAC for contest with Mississippi Valley State (Dec. 5) and Sam Houston (Dec. 10).
Tech will wrap-up the non-conference portion of their schedule on the road, battling Louisiana-Lafayette (Dec. 19) and McNeese State (Dec. 22)
Tech, which returns its top two scorers from a year ago in
Keiunna Walker and
Anna Larr Roberson, will play nine home league games and nine road games with home-and-home match-ups against UTEP, UTSA, Southern Miss, UAB, Rice and North Texas.
The Lady Techsters other three home games in league play will come against Florida Atlantic, FIU and Charlotte while the three other road games will be against Marshall, Western Kentucky and Old Dominion.
Tech will open up conference play with a road trip for games at Marshall (Dec. 30) and at Western Kentucky (Jan. 1). The Lady Techsters will return home the following weekend for contests with UTEP (Jan. 6) and UTSA (Jan. 8). Tech will then hit the road to meet their travel partner Southern Miss (Jan. 13) before the Golden Eagles make the trip to Ruston on Jan. 16.
The Lady Techsters will finish out the month of January on the road with match-ups at UAB (Jan. 22), at Rice (Jan. 27) and at North Texas (Jan. 29).
Tech returns home for three straight games as Florida Atlantic (Feb. 3), FIU (Feb. 5) and Charlotte (Feb. 10) visit the TAC. The Lady Techsters will then visit UTEP (Feb. 17) and UTSA (Feb. 19) in the last true road weekend of the season.
Three of Tech's final four league contest will come from inside the TAC as the Lady Techsters play host to Rice (Feb. 24) and North Texas (Feb. 26), before making the trip to Norfolk, Va. to take on Old Dominion (March 2). Tech will conclude the regular season with a home game against UAB (March 5).
The 2022 Conference USA Tournament will take place at the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas March 9-12 where both the men's and women's championships will be played.
