BIRMINGHAM, Alabama- Louisiana Tech wraps up day one of the Samford University Multis/Invite by concluding with the 800m in the women's pentathlon.

Johannon Murray ends the day strong with an overall finish of sixth place out of 21 other competitors at this meet. Murray scored 3350 800m today in the pentathlon, only 32 points shy of her personal best and school record.Â

The pentathlon began with the 60m hurdles, where Murray placed 7
th with a time of 9.14. After that, the high jump began, where she placed 8
th with a jump of 1.55m. Next, in the shot put, she threw 10.79m which landed her with a fifth-place finish. Finally, Murray landed in 14
th place in the long jump and fourth in the 800m with 2:30.83.

While the pentathlon ended today, the men's heptathlon will continue tomorrow. Freshman
Daniel San Juan currently leads the Bulldogs seated in 6
th place overall with a score of 2672. San Juan and
Aidan Holland competed in four out of the seven events today, starting with the men's 60m. San Juan ran 7.27, landing him with a fourth-place finish. He collected another fourth-place finish in the long jump with a jump of 6.61m. Finally, to finish off the first day of competition, San Juan threw 10.79m in the shot (6
th) and jumped 1.80m (7
th) in the high jump to finish the meet for the day.
