RUSTON, La. –Louisiana Tech Defensive Back
Myles Brooks has been named the Blenders Eyeware Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week due to his efforts during Saturday's 40-24 win over Middle Tennessee.
Brooks recorded two interceptions and two tackles during the win, becoming the first Bulldog to record a multi-interception game since
BeeJay Williamson did it last season against Southeastern (9/11/2021). Brooks' first interception came at the 14:27 mark of the third quarter, then two drives later, he picked off a Middle Tennessee pass at the LA Tech five-yard line and returned it 49 yards to the Middle Tennessee 46-yard line. The Pflugerville, Texas product is only the fifth Conference USA player to record multiple interceptions in a game this season.
Brooks has now won the award twice this season, first winning it on Oct. 10 after his pick-six in the win over UTEP. He is the first Bulldog to win conference player of the week honors multiple times in a season since
Jacob Barnes in 2020. Brooks is tied for the team lead in interceptions with three, which is tied for second among C-USA players.
Tech is back on the road this week as the Bulldogs travel to UTSA to take on the first-place Roadrunners on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 2:30 p.m. CT.
