Preview: Lady Techsters at UTSA

Tech has won seven of their last nine and sit just a half-game out of first in the West

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Louisiana Tech will complete a two-game Texas road trip in San Antonio this Saturday, Feb. 19 versus UTSA inside the Convocation Center at 2:00 p.m.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (15-9, 7-6 C-USA)
Louisiana Tech has now won seven of their last nine games after bouncing back against UTEP last night in El Paso, 77-60, behind a career-high 32 points from Keiunna Walker and an 18 point, 11 rebound double-double from Anna Larr Roberson. The Techsters are now 9-0 this season when scoring 70 or more points.
 
Walker has now scored in double figures 25 straight games and remains just one of two C-USA players to do so in every game this season (Savannah Wheeler – Marshall).
 
The junior from Lonoke, Ark. now sits at No. 34 on the all-time career scoring list for the Techsters with 1,219 career points passing Angela Lawson last night.
 
Walker's milestone season continues as she adds playing in her 100th game as a Techster to the list of surpassing 1,000 points, 100 steals, 100 assists, and 100 charges taken in her career. 
 
Roberson collected her eighth double-double of the season, 15th of her career, and has now scored in double figures for 17 straight games. She currently leads conference USA in free-throw percentage (.868) and has now hit 34 of her last 35 attempts. She also ranks No. 2 in rebounds at 8.9 per game. 
 
The Lady Techsters continue to be one of the top defensive teams in conference USA ranking No. 3 in scoring defense (58.7 ppg) and No. 5 in turnovers forced (18.8 tfpg). 
 
The Techsters are averaging 66.7 ppg this season on 42.3 percent shooting (No. 3 in C-USA) and rank as the No. 1 team in conference USA in free-throw percentage (.770). 

ABOUT UTSA (5-19, 2-11 C-USA)
UTSA welcomes Tech into San Antonio having dropped their last four games. They are 3-8 at home this season inside the Convocation Center. 
 
The Roadrunners are led in scoring by a pair of grad students in LaPraisjah Johnson at 8.5 ppg followed by Jadyn Pimentel at 8.4 ppg.
 
UTSA ranks as the No. 2 rebounding team in conference USA (41.8 rpg) and leads the league in offensive rebounding with 15.9 per game with five players averaging better than four per contest.
 
UTSA is scoring 54.5 ppg game on 32.8 percent shooting while allowing 66.8 ppg on 36.8 percent shooting to opponents this season.
 
THE SERIES
Louisiana Tech and UTSA will meet for the 21st time in program history with LA Tech holding a 15-5 advantage. 
 
Three of UTSA's five wins in the series have come by two points or less and all three of those wins came on last second field goals.
 
The Techsters have won four in a row and are 6-3 in games played in San Antonio. Three of those previous four wins have come inside the Convocation Center. 
 
Tech also won the meeting earlier this season in Ruston on Jan. 17 (79-64) that had previously been postponed due to COVID concerns within the Roadrunners program.
