"Our athletes competed hard over the last two days," said Head Coach Gary Stanley. "While we certainly wanted to score more points, we did break three school records. But, of course, the most important thing coming up is the final exams next week. Fortunately, our teams are built more for outdoor track and field, and that starts in 4 short weeks."
"Our women's long jump performances were exciting," said Assistant
Raffael Craig. "Raven came into this weekend with a personal best of 18ft and ranked 20th. She dropped a massive 19'4 3/4" in the first flight, which held for 4th. Maya Perry tied for 9th with an 18'10" jump to sneak into the finals and then jumped 19'4" on her 5th attempt moved into the 6th position."
"This weekend was full of growth and momentous performances that will propel us into the outdoor season," said Assistant Coach
Steven Champlin. "Five personal records (Seth in the 400m, Kayla in the 60h, Urijah in the 60h, Faith in the 400m, Nariah in the 400m), and it was great to see people step up and upset a few spots to get into the finals. Most notable were Seth and Urijah, who both finished better in the finals than where they were when they qualified. And our young women produced their best 4x4 time of the season by 10 seconds! Great competitiveness this weekend, and it's great to see it coming together at the right time!"
