Walker Adds Another LSWA Player Of The Week Honors

Keiunna Walker wins her third LSWA honor this season
RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech's Keiunna Walker was named the LSWA Women's State College Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season after helping the Lady Techsters to two wins over conference USA foes FAU (64-29) and FIU (81-62) this past Thursday and Saturday.
The junior guard from Lonoke, Ark. scored a game-high 19 points in the win over FAU to go along with six rebounds and four assists. She followed that performance with another game-high 22-point effort to lead the Techsters over FIU on a perfect 9-9 shooting from the field.
Over the two games, Walker shot 67 percent from the floor while also contributing eight rebounds, six assists and a steal.
Walker is currently averaging 17.4 ppg and has now scored in double figures in 22 consecutive contests including all 21 games this season. She ranks No. 3 in conference USA scoring while also ranking No. 2 in the conference in free throw makes (103) and attempts (130).
Earlier this season, Walker became the 43rd member of the Lady Techsters 1,000-point club and now sits at No. 36 on the all-time list with 1,148 career points. Walker's milestone season has also seen her surpass 100 steals and 100 charges for her career.
The Lady Techsters are back in action tonight for a rescheduled C-USA matchup against UTEP at 6:30 p.m. inside the Thomas Assembly Center. The game can be seen on CUSATV and heard on the LATechSportsNetwork on 97.7 FM.
LA Tech has won five of their last six games including three in a row as they now sit at 13-8 overall and 5-5 in C-USA play.
