RUSTON, Louisiana. --The 2022 Jim Mize Invitational hosted by Louisiana Tech's Track and Field team will be one that Tech fans remember for ages to come. Today Tech celebrated 16 senior Bulldogs and Lady Techsters for their time and dedication to the track and field program and the university. Seniors Raven Alexander, Murphy Bavinga, Seth Boullion, Colin Butler, Kyra Collins, Makayla Edwards, Annamari Farrar, Tim Fitzgerald, William Harrell, Pleasant Harris, Riley Killian, Conner Killian, Maya Perry-Grimes, William Malone, Leah Scott, Andrew Spellman, and Mason Youberg were all recognized at today's meet amongst their family, friends, and fans.
 
In addition to the senior day recognition, LA Tech Athletics celebrated Head Coach Gary Stanley on his retirement announcement. After dedicating 40 years to the track and field program, current and past student-athletes joined together today to celebrate the legacy that Coach Stanley has built. President Dr. Les Guice, Director of Athletics and Vice President Dr. Eric Wood, Deputy AD Mary Kay Hungate, and Senior Associate AD Tim Padgett, presented Stanley with a few tokens of appreciation for his loyalty, dedication, and love to Louisiana Tech University and its student-athletes. 
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

• Senior William Malone wins the men's Hammer and PRs with a throw of 53.46m
• Kristina Subia earns third in the Women's Discus with a throw of 32.82m
• Johnie Jean-Jacques earns first place in the men's discus with a throw of 42.30m
• The Lady Techsters swept the long jump. Raven Alexander (5.71m), Maya Perry-Grimes (5.69m), Jo Murray (5:36m).
• In the men's long jump Javion Canna (6.48m) got second, and  Jarvon Gaines (6.81m) got third
• Tech earned the top two finishers in the women's triple jump, Leah Scott (12.31m) and  Maya Perry-Grimes (11:85m)
• Murphy Bavinga wins the men's triple jump with a jump of 14.93m
• Tech also swept the men's javelin Tyler Ocon (first), Solon Culver (second), and Aidan Holland (third)
• Burl Brashear (3.95m) got first in the Pole vault, and Aidan Holland (3:80m) received second
• The women 4x100 wins with a time of 47.88
• Senior Conner Killian wins the 1500m with a time of 3:56.06
• Tech swept the women's 100m Hurdles: Kayla Watson (14.77s), Jo Murray (15.11s), and Nike Praetzel
• Freshman Desmyn McCall wins the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 15.12s
• Micah Pernetter earns third in the men's 400m with a time of 51.63
• Freshmen Daylon Berry finished 1st in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 54.44s. Teammate McCall earns the second-place finish with a time of 54.46
• Seniors Conner Killian and Mason Youberg came in second and third for the men's 800m
• Rebecca Quebedeaux wons the 800m for Tech
• Kayla Watson clinches the 3rd finish in the women's 200m with a time of 25.79s
• Riley Killian Wins the Women's 3k
• William Harrell came in second in the 3k with a time of 9:07.17

NEXT UP 
The Bulldogs and Lady Techsters will compete again on March 26^th at the Victor Lopez Classic in Houston, Texas. This meet will be hosted by Rice University.
