LA Tech Football to Host Spring Game, April 23, As Part of Ever Loyal Be Weekend

Spring Game beings at 11 a.m., gates will open at 10 a.m. with tailgating, apparel, and concessions available

RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech fans will get an opportunity to preview the new look Bulldogs during the 2022 LA Tech Spring Game as part of Ever Loyal Be Weekend presented by Origin Bank on Saturday at 11 a.m. inside Joe Aillet Stadium.  
 
All fans, students, and alumni can enjoy free admission to the game for a sneak peek of the 2022 Bulldogs. The Bulldogs host five home games on the 2022 schedule, with the home opener against Stephen F. Austin Saturday, September 9. 
 
Fans are encouraged to enter on the west side of Joe Aillet Stadium where apparel, concessions, and bathrooms will be accessible. The east side of the stadium will be closed for the annual Big Event.
 
Gates will open at 10 a.m. and fans are welcome to tailgate in the parking lots surrounding the stadium.
 
The LA Tech Sports Network will air the game on 97.7 FM as Malcolm Butler and Teddy Allen will provide call of the action while also interviewing several coaches and sponsors throughout the broadcast. The pregame show will begin at 10:30 a.m.
 
The game will consist of two 15-minute running clock halves with a 10-minute halftime. The halftime will feature an introduction of new Bulldog Basketball Head Coach Talvin Hester
 
The Spring Game will pit the offense against the defense with a customized scoring system to determine the winner. The scoring system can be found in the table below. LA Tech officials expect the game to last approximately 60 to 90 minutes.
 
After the game, fans are invited to join the Bulldogs on the field for a player autograph session and will receive an exclusive 2022 Season Schedule poster. 
 
Premium Seating Areas 

The 13 suite holders within the Chris Richardson Family Suite Level will have access to their suites during the game. Suite holders with questions should contact Colton Primm, Associate AD for Championship Resources, at cprimm@latechalumni.org

Davison Athletics Complex seat holders or those interested in purchasing seats in this space for the upcoming 2022 campaign can email Assistant A.D. of Ticket Sales and Service Ashley Brooks, at abrooks@latech.edu, to sit in this area and check out available seats for the 2022 season. The DAC will be closed during the Spring Game.
 
Football Alumni Tailgate
 
In conjunction with the game, a Football Alumni Tailgate in the north end zone of Joe Aillet Stadium will take place. 
 
All former Louisiana Tech football players are invited to attend and reconnect with teammates and fellow football alumni as the event is part of Ever Loyal Be Weekend on campus. The event is free and exclusive to former Louisiana Tech football student-athletes and their families and is sponsored by the Louisiana Tech T-Club.
 
The event will begin at 10 a.m. and lunch will be served at 10:30 a.m. as Coach Cumbie will address the group prior to kickoff of the spring game at 11 a.m.

Dr. Billy Bundrick Statue Unveil
 
All Bulldog football alums and all LA Tech alums and the general public are encouraged to attend a statue dedication for Dr. Billy Bundrick at 9 a.m. in the commons area between Dr. Billy Bundrick Field and the Origin Bank Soccer and Softball Complex.
               
Dr. Bundrick served as Louisiana Tech Athletics team orthopedic surgeon who gave more than 40 years of his professional career to his alma mater and whose name is connected with the new softball field. The resume of the football letter winner (1957-59), team captain, and longtime LA Tech team orthopedic doctor (1973-2013) is loaded with accolades from both the University and the athletics realm. 
 
The statue was funded by the Malone family.
 
Dr. Bundrick was enshrined into the Louisiana Tech Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the class of 1986. 
 
Baseball and Softball
 
In addition to the spring football game, both the Bulldog baseball and Lady Techsters softball teams will be hosting a big Conference USA series. 
 
LA Tech softball will be hosting UAB at 2 p.m. at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field Saturday afternoon following the spring game. Gates will open at 1 p.m. It's the second game of the three-game series which begins Friday at 6 p.m. and will wrap up Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
The Lady Techsters (29-16, 9-6) are coming off a road series win over defending Conference USA champion North Texas and currently sitting in third place in the West Division, just one-half game behind UAB and one game behind North Texas in the loss column.
   
The Louisiana Tech baseball team will host Middle Tennessee at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park at 2 p.m. with the gates opening at 1 p.m. It's the middle game of the three-game set which begins Friday at 6 p.m. and culminates Sunday at 1 p.m. 
 
Standing room only tickets are still available for the LA Tech vs. Middle Tennessee series. The baseball parking will be reserved for the baseball attendees only. 
 
The Diamond Dogs (25-11, 11-4) are currently tied for second overall in the conference standings.
 
Football Season Tickets 
  
Season tickets for the 2022 Louisiana Tech football season are on sale now. Fans can purchase season tickets online at LATechSports.com/tickets or by calling the LA Tech Ticket Office at (318) 257-3631.
 
Fans will also be able to purchase season tickets Saturday at the game in the west side Ticket Office from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The ticket office inside the Thomas Assembly Center will be closed.
