RUSTON, La. – Reigning West Division champion Louisiana Tech announced on Thursday the Conference USA portion of the 2022-23 women's basketball schedule.
The 20-game league slate will no longer feature east and west divisions as it has for the past several seasons due to the departure of Marshall, Old Dominion, and Southern Miss.
The remaining 11 C-USA programs will compete as one group and play all ten opponents twice in a home-and-home series. Game times and TV assignments for each contest will be released at a later date.
The Lady Techsters will begin their title defense on Sunday, Dec. 18, against UTEP inside the Thomas Assembly Center. Tech's remaining 2022 portion of the schedule will feature matchups at UTSA (Dec. 29) and against Charlotte in Ruston on New Year's Eve.
The 2023 slate begins in Ruston against Rice on Thursday, Jan. 5. before battling four of their next five games on the road, including stops at UTEP (Jan. 7), UAB (Jan. 14), WKU (Jan. 19), and Middle Tennessee (Jan. 21), and host North Texas for a Wednesday bout on Jan. 11.
Tech will return to the TAC for four out of five with dates against UAB (Jan. 26), UTSA (Jan. 28), FIU (Feb. 9), and Florida Atlantic (Feb. 11) while making their return game to Rice on Feb. 2.
Tech's final leg of the 22-23 C-USA slate will send the reigning champs back on the road in four of their remaining six games. Back-to-back returns to North Texas and Charlotte will precede the final home stand featuring WKU (Feb. 23) and Middle Tennessee (Feb. 25). before finishing the regular season with a trip to Florida to face FIU (Mar. 2) and Florida Atlantic (Mar. 4).
The Conference USA Basketball Championship returns to Frisco, Texas on March 8-11 at the Ford Center at The Star.
