ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (2-8)
The Lady Techsters raced out to an early lead before falling to SMU 69-53 on Thursday night in the Thomas Assembly Center.

Anna Larr Roberson and Robyn Lee had double-doubles for Tech. Roberson finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds for the 21st of her career. Lee had a team-high 16 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double-double.

Returning for the first time in 302 days from an ACL injury, Amaya Brannon contributed eight points in 20 minutes of action.

The Lady Techster bench has been producing at a high rate this season, averaging 19.5 points per game. The 26 points against SMU was the fourth time with 20 or more this season.

ABOUT ALCORN (2-5)
Alcorn comes to Ruston having lost five of the seven games this season, including an 84-50 defeat to North Texas. The Lady Braves' only wins have come at home against Nicholls (54-46) and Arkansas Baptist (78-45).

Head coach Nate Kilbert leads Alcorn State in his fourth season. The Braves are coming off a 12-win season, a nine-game improvement from the season before, and were picked ninth (out of 12 teams) in the SWAC preseason poll.

Zy'Nyia White leads the way with 10.4 points, 307 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. The junior has scored double figures in four straight games, including a season-high 19 points against the Mean Green.

Nakia Cheatham adds 8.3 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds, while Destiny Brown contributes 8.1 points and 1.4 blocks per game.

THE SERIES
LA Tech and Alcorn meet for the 11th time, with the Lady Techsters holding a 10-0 record. Tech took the last meeting 70-59 last season on Dec. 3, 2022.

LADY TECHSTER 50TH REUNION
Louisiana Tech is celebrating the 50th season of Lady Techster basketball. All former Lady Techster coaches, players, and staff are invited to the celebration held during the CUSA home opener against Sam Houston on Jan. 6, 2024. A reception will be held on Friday, Jan. 5, and formal recognition will be during the game.
