RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech senior guard
Keiunna Walker picked up her third Conference USA Player of the Week honor, as announced by the league office this afternoon.
Walker averaged 24 points and 5.5 rebounds during a two-game Florida road sweep of FIU and Florida Atlantic last week, which included a season-high 30 points on 13-35 shooting against FAU on Saturday.
The fifth-year guard eclipsed 1,900 on Thursday at FIU, scoring 18, including ten makes from free throw line. Walker is averaging 17.9 PPG this season which ranks No. 2 among conference.
Walker and company finished the regular season winners in seven of their final eight games to clinch a first-round bye and No. 5 seed in this week's Conference USA Championship Tournament this Thursday, Mar. 9, at 11:30 a.m. in Frisco, Texas.
