RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech wrapped its four-game series at home against Northern Colorado (0-4) with an 8-0 victory on Sunday evening.
Louisiana Tech's (4-0) offense clicked on Sunday after the Bulldogs put up eight runs and eight hits. The Bulldogs offense kicked off in the bottom of the third inning with a
Logan McLeod single.
Kasten Furr singled to left field, followed by an
Ethan Bates walk, and led to the bases loaded.
Ethan Bates increased his on-base reach streak to 27 games after the walk.
Dalton Davis picked up a walk at his second at-bat, which made his on-base reach streak at 14 and the lead to 1-0. Catcher
Jorge Corona reached on an error from Northern Colorado shortstop, which led
Ethan Bates and
Kasten Furr to score.
Outfielder
Adarius Myers launched a single to the left field side forcing first-basemen
Dalton Davis to score and put Tech up 4-0. Second basemen
Michael Ballard extended the Bulldogs lead to 5-0 with his single (1 RBI) in the bottom of the fifth. Davis doubled down (2 RBI) on the left field line, expanding his hitting streak to 14 games and giving LA Tech a 7-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth. A (2 run RBI) single from Corona in the bottom of the eighth, put Tech up 8-0 wrapping up the game.
Tech pitching was stellar on the mound, with five pitchers combined for eight strikeouts and gave up one walk on Sunday.
Caden Copeland got his first career start for Tech on Sunday. Copeland went five innings with four strikeouts and two hits. Junior Copeland faced 18 batters on the mound and gave up two hits. Pearl River transfer
Blake Hooks saw his first appearance on the mound for Louisiana Tech. He only pitched one inning, but
Blake Hooks had two strikeouts with just one hit.
Jacob Havern made an appearance where he had one strikeout and a hit. Senior
Isaac Crabb finished the game for the Bulldog after one strikeout and a walk.
Ryan Harland also pitched for one inning for the Bulldogs.
