Lady Techsters Fall to Lady Raiders

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Louisiana Tech women's basketball team fell to Middle Tennessee 79-58 in the final game of the regular season on Saturday morning inside the Murphy Center.

LA Tech (13-18, 7-9) got off to a slow start, making just one shot and five turnovers, but was only down 7-4 halfway through the first quarter. Middle Tenn (26-4, 16-0) started to find their rhythm and closed the quarter on a 13-4 run.

The Lady Raiders extended the run to 19-5 early in the second before the Lady Techsters started to chip away. Every time Tech would get back-to-back baskets, MTSU would score one of their own, but Tech was able to cut the lead to eight heading into the locker room.

Like they have done all season, Middle Tenn. started to pull away early in the second half.

Robyn Lee scored a game-high 18 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Salma Bates and Paris Guillory each scored seven points.

Anastasiia Boldyreva, Savannah Wheeler, and Jalynn Gregory each scored 18 points for the Lady Raiders. Boldyerva finished with a double-double, adding 13 boards, while Wheeler had nine assists.

LA Tech finished 43 percent (22-51) from the field and 35 percent (6-17) from deep but was only 57 percent (8-14) from the line. Middle Tenn. shot 49 percent (29-59) overall, 38 percent (10-26) from 3, and 73 percent (11-15) from the charity stripe.
