ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (10-6, 3-2)
Louisiana Tech used a 10-0 run over a two-minute span in the fourth quarter to come away with an 80-73 win over Jacksonville State on Thursday night. All five Lady Techster starters scored in double figures, led by Robyn Lee with 15.
Jianna Morris contributed 14 points, with eight in the final stanza. Paris Bradley and Jordan Marshall nearly had double-doubles. Bradley finished with 12 points and nine rebounds, while Marshall had 12 and eight with two blocks. Isla Airey was a perfect 5-5 from the floor for 10 points with six boards and two rejections.
Lee continues to be on a hot streak over her last seven games. During that span, the grad student scored in double figures in each game, including six of 15 or more. Lee ranks fifth in Conference USA with a 47.3 shooting clip on the season after seeing her average increase from 43.8 during that stretch.
Freshman forward Airey remains a pivotal piece down low for the Lady Techsters. She ranks in the top 40 in both blocks and blocks per game. With her two against Jax State, Airey broke a tie with Cheryl Ford and passed Adrienne Johnson for the seventh most blocks by a freshman in LA Tech history.
ABOUT KENNESAW STATE (6-9, 1-3)
Kennesaw State picked up their first CUSA win against Sam Houston on Thursday. The Owls jumped out to a 10-point lead after the first quarter, but the Bearkats would force overtime. In the extra period, KSU outscored SHSU 15-3 to come away an 85-73 winner.
The Owls boast the fifth-best three-point defenses in the country, allowing their opponents to shoot just 23.7 percent from deep. They have allowed just three opponents to shoot over 30 percent in a game.
Three-time CUSA Player of the Week, Prencis Harden, is one of the top players in the country. Harden ranks second in the league with 16.7 points and ninth in the country with 11.0 rebounds a game. The senior has a league best nine double-doubles on the season, the 14th most in the country. She has six games of 20 or more points and five straight games with double-digit rebounds.
Keyarah Berry gives the Owls another CUSA Player of the Week recipient. The 5-9 guard started the season with three consecutive 20-point games and averages 12.3.
Carly Hooks orchestrates the KSU offense with 3.6 assists per game. She also has a 1.34 assists-to-turnover ratio and 1.83 steals a game.
