ABOUT LA TECH
LA Tech fell to 5-5 after a 28-3 loss at Washington State in nonconference play. The Bulldogs were unable to find the end zone, scoring only on a 51-yard field goal as time expired in the first half. LA Tech finished with 167 total yards, including 60 through the air and 107 on the ground.
The Bulldogs used a two-quarterback system against the Cougars with
Trey Kukuk and
Evan Bullock before Bullock left in the first half with an injury. Kukuk is expected to start against Liberty, with true freshman
Jackson Bradley serving as the backup as
Blake Baker and Bullock are out with injuries. Kukuk has completed 36 of 53 passes this season for 321 yards and two scores, along with 173 yards on the ground.
Running back
Andrew Burnette and Kukuk posted 39 rushing yards apiece against Washington State. Burnette also became the fourth Bulldog to eclipse 200 rushing yards this season, having rushed for 233 yards and three scores this season.
Clay Thevenin leads the team with 516 yards and eight scores on the ground.
Eli Finley led the team with three receptions and surpassed the 30-catch mark this season for the first time in his career. The junior tight end has hauled in 31 passes for 365 yards, both of which lead the team.
Devin Gandy ranks second with 21 grabs for 356 yards along with a team leading two touchdowns.
Jacob Fields led the team with seven tackles, marking the sixth straight game he has led the team in stops. Dating back to the UTEP game, Fields has logged six consecutive games with seven or more stops. The junior has posted two double-digit tackle performances this year and leads the team with 72 tackles to pair with two pick-sixes, four pass breakups and 2.0 tackles for loss.

Redshirt freshman
John Hoyet Chance has displayed his consistency punting the football all season long, whether it's hitting 50-plus yard punts or pinning teams inside the 20 to set his defense up in prime positioning. The Shreveport native leads the nation with 25 punts of 50-plus yards and ranks second in the FBS with 22 punts inside the 20-yard line. Chance connected on four punts of 50-plus yards against Washington State and finished with an average boot of 53.40 yards, the highest single-game average of the season, fueled by a long punt of 65 yards.
