No. 9 LA Tech Set to Host Bulldog Classic

Bowling welcomes 10 ranked teams to home event in Fort Worth

RUSTON – The No. 9 Louisiana Tech bowling team will host the Bulldog Classic at Cityview Lanes in Fort Worth, Texas, this weekend, Nov. 7-9. The field features 16 teams, with 10 of them being ranked, including seven inside the top 10.

The Bulldogs will honor seniors Jenna Stretch and Frances Davila prior to Saturday's start at 10:20 a.m.

Format: Friday: Five sets of five Baker games – 11:30 a.m.
   Saturday: Five traditional team games – 11:25 a.m.
   Sunday: Three rounds of bracket-play. Best four of seven-baker match play – 8:55 a.m.

ABOUT LA TECH (18-8)

The Bulldogs are coming off their second top-five tournament finish of the season after placing second at the TRACK Kat Klash last weekend in Houston. LA Tech went 10-3 overall, earning four ranked wins over No. 5 Wichita State, No. 24 Oklahoma Christian, No. 16 Maryland Eastern Shore and No. 8 Sam Houston. LA Tech bowled 69 total games and averaged 192.0 pins per game.

Tech tallied 13,246 total pins across 69 games on the weekend. The Bulldogs collected 7,618 pins in baker games, 4,953 in traditional games and 675 in bracket play, while averaging 192.0 pins per game.

Paulina Avalos was named to the all-tournament team after finishing fourth individually. Avalos rolled a 1,036 and averaged a 207.20 to earn a spot on the team.

Tech has earned eight ranked wins this season.
