ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (4-3)
The Lady Techsters are coming off a nailbiter victory against the South Alabama Jaguars Thursday night. Louisiana Tech would score the first five points of the game, but the Jaguars would answer, winning the quarter 20-19. The Lady Techsters would take the lead entering halftime behind two big three-point shots from
Averi Aaron and seven points from
Alexia Weaver. Weaver would dominate the third, scoring 13 points alone and ballooning the lead up to 14. The Jaguars would not go away quietly, chipping away at the lead until Amyah Sutton nailed two huge three-pointers of her own, tying the game with 16 seconds left. With the ball in
Paris Bradley's hands, she drove hard to the basket with a lot of contact, missing the game winning shot. However,
Jordan Marshall refused to give up on the play, collecting the offensive rebound, and being fouled on her tip-in attempt. Marshall would nail both of her free throws, securing the LA Tech victory with 0.7 seconds left.
Alexia Weaver dazzled in the match, setting a new career high 27 points on 7-11 FG, 4-6 3FG, and 9-10 FT shooting. Her 27 points is tied for the second most by a Conference USA player this season and her four three pointers also tied a career high, the second time she has hit that mark this season.
Jordan Marshall came up clutch for the Lady Techsters. The Little Rock native captured her second double-double of the season, scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. Thursday was the second time this season she has put up at least a 15/15 stat-line. Marshall is currently fifth in the country with 4.9 offensive rebounds per game, only trailing the nation's leader by 0.5.
Paris Bradley continued her double-figure scoring streak, extending it to nine with her 11 points.
