ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (7-5, 0-1 CUSA)
The Lady Techsters lost their conference home opener against the Sam Houston Bearkats 67-64 on Friday night, ending a 10-game win streak within the Thomas Assembly Center. The night was plagued by turnovers and missed opportunities, especially at the free throw line. It was classic conference action, with 12 lead changes and 12 ties, with neither team grabbing a lead of double-figures. Friday night marks the only game the Lady Techsters have not shot at least 20 three-pointers in a game and marked the lowest makes on the season, only netting three.
Â
Kaleigh Thompson has been productive the last three games for Louisiana Tech. The Three Rivers transfer has scored in double-figures three games in a row, leading the team twice. Thompson also notched her first double double as a Lady Techster against Central Baptist to close out 2025, scoring a team high 14 points and team high 10 rebounds.
Â
Paris Bradley,
Alexia Weaver, and
Joy Madison-Key have been dishing dimes throughout the year. The trio have 121 assists so far this season, the most among Conference USA trios. Madison-Key leads the team with 3.6 assists per game, good for fourth in the league. Bradley is fifth with 3.4 per game, and Weaver rounds out the trio at seventh with 3.1. No team in the league has multiple players in the top 12, LA Tech has three in the top seven.
Â
Jianna Morris continues to be a marksman from deep, being the only Lady Techster to hit a three-point shot in every game this season. Morris is averaging 2.8 deep shots per game on 37.4 shooting, both good for second in the conference. The junior guard has made a three-point shot in 18 straight games.
