Stoehr Coach of the Year, Four Lady Techsters Named to All-Conference Teams

Brooke Stoehr was named Conference USA Coach of the Year, while Bradley, Morris, Marshall, and Weaver were named to All Conference Teams, the league announced on Monday afternoon.

RUSTON – Brooke Stoehr was named Conference USA Coach of the Year, while Bradley, Morris, Marshall, and Weaver were named to All Conference Teams, the league announced on Monday afternoon.

Stoehr in her 10th season with Louisiana Tech lead the program to a 24-5 record, its best in 15 years. Her 17 conference wins are the most since the 2003-04 season.

The Lady Techsters closed the regular season on a 17 game win streak, the longest by a CUSA team in the last 25 years and the most by the Lady Techsters since 2003-04.

Stoehr's offense is one of the best Louisiana Tech have had in the 21st century. Its 74.8 points per game and 45.0 field goal percentage are the best since 2003-04. Its 35.0 three point percentage is the best since 2002-03 while 216 three pointers made are the most in a season ever. The Lady Techsters also averaged 16.7 assists per game, the most in the 21st century.

Louisiana Tech won the regular season conference title by five games, tying the largest margin between first and second place in CUSA history. The Lady Techsters were one of 10 teams in the country to be perfect on the road in conference play.

During league play this season, Stoehr's led LA Tech to the best offense (72.8 ppg) and the best defense (57.7 ppg), allowing a margin of 15.1, eight points higher than second place Missouri State. The Lady Techsters also boasted the best field goal percentage (46.6), three point percentage (37.3), assists per game (16.8), and assists/turnover ratio (1.02) in the league.

Stoehr heads to Huntsville, Alabama for the Conference USA Championship as the number one seed.

Paris Bradley was named to the All-Conference USA First Team after a stellar sophomore campaign. It marks the second year in a row for Bradley to be named First Team.

Bradley led Louisiana Tech in points with 14.4 per game, the fifth most in the league. Bradley also led the Lady Techsters in steals (1.9) and ranked second on the team in rebounds (5.2), assists (3.2), three pointers made (55), and free throw percentage (81.7). The sophomore guard was the only player in Conference USA to be top 2 on their team in points, rebounds, assists, and steals.

Bradley was also the first player for the Lady Techsters to grab 130 rebounds, dish 80 assists, and make 50 threes in a season since Betty Lennox in 1999-2000. The Carrollton, Texas native is the only player in CUSA to average 14.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, and 3.0 apg.

Against Liberty, Bradley set two arena records and two career highs with 31 points and seven made threes, all coming in a row. It was the first 30 point game by a Lady Techster in three years, winning her CUSA Player of the Week December 15th.

Bradley scored in double figures in all but three games this season and led LA Tech in scoring 12 times.

Jianna Morris and Jordan Marshall were named to the All-Conference USA Second Team.

Morris was second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.9 points per game, the highest of her career. Morris also led the team with 34.4 minutes per game and 2.7 triples per game, the 32nd most in the country.

Morris is one of the best three-point shooters in the country. The Sherwood, Arkansas native was one of three players in the nation to score at least 2.7 three pointers per game while also making one in every game. Morris has made 78 three pointers so far this season, the third most in program history and the most by a junior. Morris has made a three pointer in 36 straight games, dating back to her sophomore campaign. The junior guard made four or more triples in nine games this season.

Despite playing 34.4 minutes per game, the fourth most in the league, Morris only turned the ball over 31 times, barely once per game.

Morris did all this while guarding the best guard on the opposing team. Morris held the top three scorers in CUSA to below their scoring average in every game, often by less than half.

Against UTEP, Morris scored a career high 21 points and made five triples in the first half, both career highs.

Marshall led the Lady Techsters in rebounding with 6.9 per game, including 3.4 offensive rebounds per game. She had more offensive rebounds than seven Lady Techsters had rebounds in total. Marshall led LA Tech in rebounding 14 times this season and grabbed at least six rebounds 17 times.

Marshall was fourth in scoring with 10.8 points per game and led all starters with a 52.8 field goal percentage. Her 31 steals marked a new career high. The sophomore forward led the team with four double-doubles.

Marshall boasts two games of at least 18 points and 16 rebounds this season. Against Louisiana Christian, the Little Rock, Arkansas native grabbed 18 boards and scored 20 points, including 10 offensive rebounds. 18 rebounds set a new career high and 10 offensive rebounds are the most since Alexus Malone in 2018. Marshall did it all in only 25 minutes.

Alexia Weaver rounds out the group as a All-CUSA Honorable Mention.

Weaver was third on the team in scoring with 10.9 points per game and shot the three ball at the highest clip on the team at 41.7 percent. Her 2.9 assists per game ranked ninth in CUSA.

During league play, Weaver was nails from deep, shooting 45.6 percent, the second highest clip in the conference. Weaver also increased her points per game to 11.1.

Weaver led LA Tech in scoring seven times and in assists eight, scoring 20 or more points three times. Against New Mexico State, Weaver grabbed seven steals, a career high and the most by a Lady Techster in six years. Against South Alabama, the Three Rivers transfer scored a career high 27 points, hitting four triples and shooting 9-10 from the free throw line.

Weaver dished at least four assists in 10 games and hit at least four triples in six.
