TEXARKANA, Ark. – Louisiana Tech men's golf closed out its 2025–26 season with a strong performance, firing a final-round 280 (-8) to tie the program's lowest single-round score at the Conference USA Championship.
After combining for 24 birdies through the first two rounds, the Bulldogs stayed aggressive in round three, piling up 21 birdies at Texarkana Country Club. Despite a two-hour lightning delay and shifting weather conditions, LA Tech climbed two spots to finish tied for eighth alongside Sam Houston.
Two Bulldogs led the charge with matching rounds of 68 (-4).
Morton Bailey nearly carded a bogey-free round, with his lone blemish coming on the par-4 14th. The sophomore added five birdies and 12 pars for his team-leading 15th round at or under par this season.
Oskari Schuvalow also fired a 68. The junior posted a 36 on the back nine before catching fire on the front, sinking six birdies – including one on each of his final four holes – to match his lowest round of the season and finish tied for 28th.
Seth Campbell was the third Bulldog in the red, posting a 70 (-2) to join Schuvalow in a tie for 28th. The round also matched his lowest score of the season.
Riley Hnatyshyn and
Abel Derksen each carded rounds of 74 (+2), finishing tied for 41st at +5 overall.
UTEP, New Mexico State, Liberty, and Middle Tennessee finished in the top four and advanced to match play.
