LEXINGTON, Ky. –
Jamara Patterson breaks the Louisiana Tech 400m record for the fifth time this season to advance to the NCAA East Regional Quarterfinals with the first sub-51 second run in program history on Thursday afternoon.
Patterson continues to show she is one of the best runners in the country, setting another personal best in the 400m.
The junior from Grenada ran a 50.98 in Lexington, the first sub-51 second run in program history. She once again has broken the Louisiana Tech outdoor program record, the fifth time this season.
Ultimately, Patterson placed fifth in the event and was one of only five runners to break the 51 second barrier. She will compete on Saturday at 5:50 p.m. CT to try and advance to the NCAA Championships.
Jaitlyn Ware ran a 23.79 in the 200m, placing 39
th in the event. Ware will compete with the 4x400m team on Saturday.
Tomorrow, the Bulldogs will compete in the men's 4x100m relay, 110m hurdles and the 100m dash. The event will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats can be followed at latechsports.com.
