NEWARK, Del. – Louisiana Tech softball's 2026 season came to an end Friday as the Bulldogs were eliminated from the Conference USA Tournament with a 5-2 loss to Western Kentucky at Delaware Softball Diamond. LA Tech finishes the season at 31-25.
Alannah Rogers led Bulldogs at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base, while Jina Baffuto tallied two hits. Bradi Gallaway finished with one hit. LA Tech was outhit 9-6 in the loss.
The Bulldogs struck first in the top of the first inning after Allie Furr reached on an error and later scored on an RBI single up the middle by Rogers to give Tech an early 1-0 lead.
WKU answered in the bottom half of the inning when Annie White doubled home Jenna Blanton to tie the game at one apiece.
The Bulldogs regained the lead in the third. Gracie Flores drew a walk before Gallaway also reached base to set up Rogers' second hit of the game. A wild pitch later in the inning allowed Flores to score and gave Tech a 2-1 advantage.
After Allie Floyd worked the first two innings in the circle, Bryannah Campos entered in relief in the third and kept the Western Kentucky scoreless through her first inning of work.
WKU took the lead in the fourth and did not look back, plating three runs on four hits. Katie Murphy tied the game with an RBI bunt single before Blanton delivered a two-run double to center field to put the Hilltoppers ahead 4-2.
The Hilltoppers added an insurance run in the fifth on Anna Mauck's RBI double to left-center.
LA Tech threatened late after Baffuto recorded her second hit of the game in the sixth and Furr drew a leadoff walk in the seventh, but WKU was able to turn a game-ending double play to secure the win.
