Louisiana Tech Transfer Class Ranked Among Nation's Best

Bulldogs rank top-20 overall; top-three among non-power four schools
RUSTON | Louisiana Tech's success in the transfer portal has earned the Bulldogs national recognition.
The Bulldogs' 2026 softball transfer class was ranked No. 20 in the nation and No. 3 among all non-Power Four programs in the recently released 2026 Transfer Class Rankings courtesy of D1Softball, placing Tech alongside some of the country's premier programs.
Only Florida Atlantic (No. 17) and Tulsa (No. 19) ranked ahead of Louisiana Tech among non-Power Four schools, while the Bulldogs finished ahead of Power Four programs including Missouri, Baylor, Auburn, UCF, Duke, Iowa State, North Carolina and Kentucky.
The ranking reflects an offseason in which head coach Josh Taylor and his staff aggressively addressed roster needs through the transfer portal, adding six experienced players in Chloe Cummings, Jacey Schuler, Caroline McLendon, Graci Major, Ansleigh Smith and Mia Leone.
Louisiana Tech's placement in the rankings is particularly noteworthy considering the company it keeps. Of the 40 programs recognized, 28 represent Power Four conferences, including 11 from the SEC, eight from the Big 12, five from the ACC and four from the Big Ten.
The Bulldogs were also the only Sun Belt Conference program ranked among the nation's top 40 transfer classes, an encouraging sign as Louisiana Tech prepares for its first season in its new conference. Tech joins LSU as the only two in-state programs ranked.
Taylor has steadily elevated the Bulldogs since taking over the program, leading Louisiana Tech to five consecutive 30-win seasons while establishing the program as one of Conference USA's most consistent winners. The national recognition of this year's transfer class suggests the Bulldogs' momentum has continued on the recruiting trail.
As the Bulldogs begin a new chapter in one of the nation's toughest softball conferences, the top-20 ranking serves as another indication that Louisiana Tech is attracting talented players to the program.
