Bulldogs open a new era under head coach Keenan Hickton with four fall events, a six-event spring slate and the Sun Belt Championship
RUSTON | Louisiana Tech men's golf has released its 2026-27 schedule, the program's first under new head coach Keenan Hickton and its first as a member of the Sun Belt Conference.
The slate is built around the Bulldogs' lone home event of the fall, the Argent Financial Classic, which will bring competition to Squire Creek Country Club in Ruston September 27-29. Louisiana Tech opens the season at the Florida Atlantic Invitational in Jupiter, Fla. (Sept. 21-22), before heading to the Trinity Forest Invitational hosted by SMU in Dallas (Oct. 4-6) and The Clerico hosted by Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Okla. (Oct. 19-20).
The spring slate carries the Bulldogs through six road events before the program's first Sun Belt Championship, set for April 26-29 in Madison, Miss. Louisiana Tech opens spring play at the SeaBest Invitational hosted by Jacksonville University (Feb. 1-2), then heads to the Hal Williams Collegiate hosted by South Alabama in Mobile (Feb. 15-16), the Louisiana Classics hosted by UL-Lafayette (March 8-9), the All-American Intercollegiate hosted by Houston (March 15-16), the Maridoe Collegiate hosted by North Texas in Dallas (March 30-31) and the Everett Buick GMC
Classic hosted by Little Rock (April 12-13) ahead of the Sun Belt Championship.
"We are excited to play in a competitive tournament schedule which will prepare the Bulldogs for the Sun Belt Championship. We will test ourselves against some of the top talents in the country, and we will also compete on first-class, championship golf courses. Like usual, the best golf course we play all season is Squire Creek. Please come out and support the Argent Financial Classic September 27-29 as we look to defend home turf," said Hickton.
Hickton's first roster in Ruston blends a veteran core with a wave of new talent, including a familiar face from his previous stop. The transfer class is headlined by Aidan Tudor, an All-American who followed Hickton from Sewanee, joined by Jakub Janda (Houston), Reda El Hali (Odessa College) and fifth-year Alejandro Sanchez (Mexico City, Mexico). True freshman Amine El Omari (Tampa, Fla.) rounds out the newcomers. The Bulldogs also return fourth-year Oskari Schuvalow (Helsinki, Finland) and a trio of third-years in Morton Bailey (Crawley, England), Abel Derksen (Gouda, Netherlands) and West Monroe, La., native Gray Kingrea.
