Bulldogs Capture 2008 Independence Bowl

Louisiana Tech recorded its first bowl win in more than 30 years when the Bulldogs defeated Northern Illinois 17-10 before more than 41,000 fans at Independence Stadium in Shreveport. Tech used a 97-yard kickoff return by Phillip Livas and 60 minutes of hard-nosed defense to down the Huskies, marking the program's first bowl win since capturing the 1977 Independence Bowl.
