Louisiana Tech has announced the hiring of Anthony Lewis as the new defensive graduate assistant for the Bulldog football team.

Lewis comes to LA Tech after spending a season as the linebacker coach at Mesa Community College in Arizona. Prior to his stint in Mesa, Lewis also coached the defensive line at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas for the 2011-12 seasons.

While earning his degree in agricultural leadership and development from Texas A&M, Lewis helped contribute to the Aggies' summer football camp as a coach and a defensive undergraduate assistant in 2010. Lewis also spent time on the playing field at Texas A&M as a linebacker for the Aggies.

Lewis is a member of the American Football Coaches Association and has spent time public speaking on leadership and academic excellence for student athletes at various conferences around the country.
