Richard A. “Mackey” MacPherson joined the Louisiana Tech staff in 2015 as an offensive graduate assistant coach.

MacPherson came to Louisiana Tech after spending time as a merchandiser with PepsiCo, a job he secured after spending the 2014 preseason in the Buffalo Bills camp. He was released in the final round of cuts prior to the start of the 2014 regular season.

The Bills signed MacPherson after a standout career at Syracuse University where he was a four-year starter for the Orange while graduating with cum laude honors in only seven semesters. MacPherson was a team captain his senior season and was named to the ACC All-Bowl Team as well as the ACC All-Academic Team his senior season while receiving All-ACC honors.

MacPherson received his Bachelor’s Degree from Syracuse in 2014. He is the grandson of College Football Hall of Fame inductee Coach Dick MacPherson.
