Colton Primm was promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Championship Resources in November 2022. He joined the Louisiana Tech Family in September 2021 as Associate AD for Championship Resources.

In his current position, Primm oversees all major revenue streams for the athletics department, including fundraising, ticket sales and operations, and the department’s partnership with Learfield. Primm also serves on the executive leadership team for the athletics department, is the sport administrator for the men’s golf program, and is the conference representative for Conference USA for the National Association of Athletics Development Directors (NAADD).

Now in his third year, Louisiana Tech Athletics has raised over $21M since Primm’s arrival, with four gifts of $1M+, including the largest corporate gift in the history of Louisiana Tech University. Under his leadership, Louisiana Tech Athletics has rebranded its fundraising arm to “Championships Resources”, launched BuildTheLegacy.com in partnership with Sidearm Sports, and implemented its first-ever major giving society, the Aillet Society, which has surpassed 75 members since its inception in August 2022.

Primm is currently working to secure private funding for the North End Zone project, which includes the Origin Bank Center for Student-Athlete Success, Sarah & A.L. Williams Champions Plaza, and a new videoboard. Collectively, the project is expected to total $21.5 million.

Primm arrived in Ruston following an almost three-year stint at the University of Arkansas where he worked for the Razorback Foundation and was promoted to Director of Development after being hired as an Associate Director. He spearheaded additional revenue growth for the Razorback Foundation through capital gifts, annual fund gifts, and suite and loge box sales, resulting in $2.1 million in new revenue during FY21.

Additionally, Primm managed five separate Razorback Clubs throughout the state, soliciting new memberships in each area. He was appointed to the inaugural Razorback Foundation Small Business Membership Committee, which conceptualized and implemented a new annual giving program for small businesses. He also envisioned and executed a virtual golf tournament as a way to offset lost revenue during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Primm was recognized by Arkansas Business as one of the most influential young business leaders in the state of Arkansas in the annual “20 in Their 20’s” spotlight in September of 2020.

Prior to his time at Arkansas, he spent two and a half years at the University of Central Arkansas as the Director of Athletics Development, leading all fundraising initiatives related to athletics annual giving programs. Under his leadership, UCA set an all-time fundraising record for athletics annual giving in 2018.

Primm began his professional career as a marketing associate at the University of Arkansas in 2014-15 before moving on to Ohio University as a graduate assistant in Athletics Development (Ohio Bobcat Club).

He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and business from Hendrix College (2014) and his MBA from Ohio (2016) and a Master’s in Sports Administration from Ohio (2017). He was a four-year letter winner and two-time captain in basketball at Hendrix College.

Primm is heavily involved with ADs for Christ, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing Christ-like leaders in college athletics through spiritual growth and fellowship.

He and his wife, Sam, have a three-year old son, Paxton, and one-year old daughter, Scout. They also have two dogs – Carolina (Chocolate Lab) and London (English Cream Golden Retriever). Sam also works on Louisiana Tech’s campus as a Physician Assistant at Tech Care.
