CJ Browder will enter her first year at Louisiana Tech, serving as an assistant coach on the Lady Techsters Softball staff.
Browder comes highly recommended from a Lady Techster alum as she has spent the past three years working for Lea Ann Jarvis at the Softball Factory in Baltimore, Maryland where she served as an on-the-field director, assisting with the coordination of day-to-day operational events.
Her main responsibilities at Louisiana Tech will include working the with outfielders, assisting with hitting and handling most of the video work and scouting preparation.
"We are so excited for CJ joining our staff," Montgomery said. "She excelled as a player and is very passionate about softball. CJ worked under former Tech All-American Lea Ann Jarvis at the Softball Factory. So for Lea Ann to recommend somebody to her alma mater, I feel positive we are getting a winner."
During her collegiate days, Browder played played on the junior college and NAIA level for all four years, earning first team all-American honors in 2013 at South Carolina Beaufort. She was the Sun Conference Player of the Year that season after batting .491 with 17 home runs, 16 doubles and 68 RBI.
Browder also spent time at Union (Tenn.) University, Northwest Florida State College and Reinhardt (Ga.) University. She earned a total of eight student-athlete of the week honors during her career and was first team all-Academic in 2013-14.
"I can't begin to thank Coach Montgomery enough for giving me this opportunity," Browder said. "It is truly an honor and a dream-come-true for me to be in this position at Louisiana Tech. I am excited to bring my love and passion for the game to the program and work alongside Coach Montgomery and Coach Doria to be the best LA Tech Softball can be. I know this program is headed to new heights, and I feel extremely blessed to just be a part of the journey."
