Smith serves as an Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Louisiana Tech. He is currently responsible for Program Design and Implementation for Men & Women’s Track & Field and Softball.
Smith joins Louisiana Tech Sports Performance after serving time at Jacksonville State from 2019-2021. At Jacksonville State, Smith was a Graduate Assistant with their strength and conditioning program. He oversaw Women’s Track & Field, Women’s XC, Men’s XC, Women’s Tennis, & Men’s Tennis. Smith also spent time assisting with strength and conditioning at Jacksonville State for football, softball, baseball, volleyball, beach volleyball, women’s soccer, & rifle. While as JSU, Smith was a part of an OVC championship football team in the spring season of 2021.
Prior to Jacksonville State, Smith worked with Alabama Football Strength & Conditioning from 2018-2019 as a student intern. Smith was a part of an SEC Championship team as well as a National Championship runner-up team. 22 of the players from that team are currently on NFL rosters. Smith also assisted with Alabama Men’s Tennis Strength & Conditioning during his time as an intern.
Smith graduated from the University of Alabama in 2019 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in exercise science. Smith is currently enrolled in the Sport Management Graduate Program at Jacksonville State University.
Smith has a certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength & Conditioning Association and is also CPR/AED/First-Aid certified through the American Heart Association.
