Louisiana Tech coach Gary Stanley announced the addition of Adam Malloy to the Bulldog and Lady Techster track and field staff in 2017-18. Malloy joins Stanley, associate head coach Wesley Miller and assistant coach Davina Orieukwu to complete the staff.

Malloy has spent time on track and field staffs at James Madison (2009-11), Northwestern State (2011-13), Brevard College (2013-14) and Millersville University (2016-17) during his coaching career.

“Adam will be instrumental in helping Wes with the sprinters as we transition into Wes heading up both the jumpers and sprinters training programs,” said Stanley. “Adam will also provide invaluable assistance with entries and meet management.”

Most recently Malloy worked at Millersville (Pa.) University as a volunteer assistant coach working with the Division II programs long sprints and mid-distance runners. He also worked for one year at Brevard (N.C.) College as the head men’s and women’s track and field and cross country coach leading the program to its highest finishes ever in the South Atlantic Conference and Southeast Regional.

Malloy spent two years in Natchitoches as the head men’s and women’s cross country coach and an assistant coach with the Demons indoor and outdoor programs. During his time at NSU, the Demons recorded 15 top 5 program marks, including three school records.

Prior to NSU, Malloy was a volunteer assistant for the James Madison women’s cross country team. During his time at JMU, the Dukes captured several team and individual championships, including their first Eastern College Athletic Conference team and individual championship in 10 years.

Malloy also helped lead the Dukes to the 2009-10 Colonial Athletic Association steeplechase championship and the 2010 CAA cross country team championship.

The Ephrata, Penn. native graduated from James Madison in 2011 with a master’s degree in kinesiology-sport leadership. He earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Millersville University in 2009 where he was a two-year cross country team captain and three-year track and field team captain. He was a two-time NCAA qualifier on the cross country team.

He was the top finisher for the cross country team on several occasions and cemented his spot in the Marauders’ record books as a top 25 all-time finisher in the 8k and 10k courses. Malloy also contributed on the track, setting top 10 school marks in the 4x400, 4x800, 400-meter, 800-meter and 3,000-meter steeplechase. He earned the top spot on the 2009 all-conference 3,000-meter steeplechase outdoor team.
